Bernhard has 22 years’ experience in the financial services industry.  He creates customised financial plans for his clients to grow and protect their wealth with a focus on retirement, estate planning and offshore investing. His clients appreciate that money is only a means to support a desired lifestyle and that life is about the journey. He is passionate about trust-based relationships, founded on mutual respect. Following in his father’s footsteps after 35 years in the industry, he started his financial planning career with Old Mutual in January 1998. In 1999, he was seconded to Nedbank Financial Planning where he looked after private banking clients. In 2011 he moved back to Old Mutual finally moving to Private Wealth Management in early 2020 after making a strategic decision to not only represent one brand. Bernhard has racked up several accolades during his career. He was nominated as Nedbank’s financial planner of the year in 2007 and more recently ranked second in the 2018 National Old Mutual Practice of the Year competition.

 Bernhard holds a BCom (Economics) degree and a Masters in Business Administration from North-West University, a Postgraduate diploma in financial planning and an Advanced Postgraduate diploma in financial planning (Investment Planning). He is a member of the Financial Planning Institute and is a Certified Financial Planner.
