Step 1 – Understanding FP’s Practice, Goals and Objectives
We help you to define goals, objectives and action steps leading up to your retirement/exit.

Step 2 - Planning and Preparation
You define your ideal exit strategy and legacy and put an action plan in place.

Step 3 - Valuing the Practice
The true measure of a business valuation is derived from the predictability of future cash flows. We will do a valuation of the client relationships you have established in your business through your skills, time and effort. We would need to access client files and records and interview staff.

Step 4 - Identify the Right Successor
We will identify a potential successor who shares your values and has similar expertise.

Step 5 - Institute a Trial Period
The identified successor will commence a trial period of joint work arrangements with you. If successful, we will draw up a business plan, which sets goals for the practice, outlines key roles and responsibilities and projects results in order to move the business relationship to the next level.

Step 6 - Transition of Client Relationships

PWM will appoint your successor on your exit. You will be required to mentor your successor for a period to facilitate the smooth transition of client relationships to PWM.

Activities to complete during this step:

  • Draft a client communication plan
  • Write a transition statement to be used with clients
  • Discuss all role players’ expectations and time commitments
  • Schedule joint transition meetings with top clients

Begin transferring responsibility and authority to your successor.

Step 7 – Finally Retirement
The final step is when your book has been transferred to your successor. You can then begin your new journey while your successor runs the business.

Client Service Support Team

This team provides client service and support during the transition process and is an extension of the financial planning team. During the transition process, your clients will liaise with this team. They also manage new and existing business processing requests, including annual reviews, and ensure that we meet compliance requirements. Their goal is to provide industry-leading service and to exceed clients’ expectations.

Client Service and Experience

Val resolves all service-related queries or queries relating to financial products we manage. She is also responsible for client events and communication.

Elna De Beer
Business Processing and Administration

Elna manages completed application documentation and ensures that we meet compliance requirements. She will follow up with Product Providers on all outstanding business requirements and service requests until fully completed.

She manages and processes client instructions relating to intermediary appointments, letters of consent, regulatory disclosures, claims, benefit payments, disinvestments, withdrawals, surrenders, policy loans, maturities, and investment fund switches as well as changes to policy information, beneficiaries, banking details and address changes.

Trudi Pienaar
Business Processing and Administration

Mahlatse Kekana
Client Review & Preparation

Mahlatse is responsible for the annual review process. This includes preparing meeting packs, pre-review documents, formal review and supporting documents, sourcing of portfolio information from product providers and preparing policy schedules. She liaises with our admin team to ensure service levels are maintained and those priorities and deadlines are always adhered to.

Lee-Anne Molzen
Client Review & Paraplanning

Lee-Anne works with our financial planning team and is responsible for analysing financial data using our holistic lifestyle financial planning advice model and tools to create suitable solutions to match clients’ needs and goals.

She uses financial advice principles and complex tax calculations to analyse a client’s financial position and find opportunities for additional or enhanced solutions highlighted in the lifestyle financial advice plan. She stays up to date on the latest industry developments and legislation.
